Unsure. Based on the number of stripes on his sleeve, he's anything from an Lieutenant (two wide stripes), or a Commander (three wide stripes). He'd have to have four stripes on his sleeve to be a Captain. In truth, he appears to be an IMPOSTER, who doesn't know DIDDLY about Naval rank.

Actually Cap N' Crunch was invented by the Quaker Oats Company in 1963..
No, he is a totally fictional character, but he does have a full name that never appears in the commercials:
Cap'n Horatio Magellan Crunch !!!
Some other trivia..The cereal is designed to look like little treasure chests (personally I think they look like rabbit turds)..
