there is some truth to this. when someone is yawning, next thing you know, someone else is (usually me, haha)... why is this??

It has to have something to do with an involuntary brain function. Yawning is contagious. I don't really know why that is.

Everybody is having their own hypothesis regarding yawning , I was having a idea because of lack of Oxygen level in blood yawning is been stimulated (BOD-body oxygen deamand defers from people to people based on their life style) but it seems to be not the prime cause for futher details check the link out

Funny you should mention that since I saw a report today that implies that it is empathy. They say autistic children are less inclined to yawn when they see others yawn due to a lack of empathetic connection with people.
