Is there anyway to press a sunflower just like you would do to a flower like a rose inside of a book? Or anyway to preserve a sunflower?

There really is no way to press a sun flower because it is so beefy. You could press the individual petals, but the center would be impossible. you could dry the sun flower or have it freeze dried. There are several products such as Silica gel, Silica Sand, Borax, Corn meal, as well as plain old air drying that you can use to dry and preserve flowers. The Silica Gel is a very popular method and can be found at any craft store.
Here is a site that describes the various methods.

I used to preserve flowers in Borax. Get a box the flower will fit completely inside. Put some Borax in it to hold the flower in place so none of the petals are bent. Then cover the flower with borax, tapping the box until the borax sifts into every crevice. Leave it for a few weeks or a month and then cut a hole in the box and pour the Borax out. Voila! your flower looks the same, only dried. I've never tried it with sunflowers, but it works with many others, so give that a try. If the sunflower is large, it might take longer to become perfectly dry.
