ok, I have a 1992 Olds. Cutlass Supreme (2 door) with a 210HP V-6 with EFI. I have made sure all my tires are inflated properly, and I increased my gas mileage by 3 MPG's!! (went from 24 to 27 MPG's) I also checked my air filter, and cleaned it out, but I didn't see a better gas milage. is there anything else I can do?

Thanks in advance!

Make sure that your car is in first class mechanical condition. To improve your m.p.g. you must concentrate on your driving. Always start off from cold as soon as you can, don`t wait for it to "warm up". Don`t accelerate harshly, and curb your top speed. Anticipate the actions of other road users so that you don`t have to brake sharply. On approach to any fixed hazard, try to let your engine do the braking for you, as long as you`re not inconveniencing following traffic. On motor ways, reach your desired speed slowly, and then "feather" the accelerator................... that is, very slowly lift your foot off the accelerator, and you`ll find that your speed doesn`t drop until you come to a hill, where you need to accelerate a little to maintain your speed. Again, try to anticipate the actions of other road users: look well ahead, and change lanes early to overtake a slower vehicle, so that you`re not wasting fuel slowing down and then having to accelerate again. It`s quite amazing just how much you can improve your m.p.g by changing your driving habits. I haven`t mentioned using the gears because I`m assuming that you have an automatic transmission.

Synthetic motor oil and atf will lower frictional losses and give better gas mileage, not to mention less engine wear, extended drain intervals (Amsoil or Mobil-1 Extended Performance), cooler operation, etc. I use Amsoil 0W-30 motor oil and Amsoil synthetic ATF and their fuel injector cleaner as well. Type in your year, make, model at the Online Product Guide here: http://www.amsoil.com/redirect.cgi?zo=1463115&page=products

Keep your fuel injector clean. If your fuel injector is very dirty at the moment, then having a mechanic clean it will markedly improve gas mileage

Do not keep unnecessary items in your car. The extra weight has an effect on gas mileage.

You should change your air filter...maybe replace it with a cold air intake witch bring more Oxygen in you engin so it will need less gas for same explosion. You could also install a chip but in my opinion thats not as safe.
