In the State of Ohio can a person not check the felony box on job application after their records are sealed(expunged)?

The application asks if you have been convicted, not if the conviction will show up on a records check. If you say no, you have LIED on your application. That is grounds for termination of employment FOR CAUSE in EVERY state.

if your record has been expunged, you can claim to not have any felony record. one thing to remember, though, if you ever apply for a gov't job or one that uses FBI background checks, the felony will come up. the FED's never forget anything, AND DO NOT expunge records

yes, if it has been expunged you do not have to check that box. However, there will be some jobs (ie: teaching) that are able to see your record even if it has been expunged. The teaching law has just been recently passed in Ohio. However, most jobs are safe.
