Several times. In disbelief I will always remember when President J.F.K. was shot. Also when the M.G.M. in L.V. burned ( I was there & helped). When I watched the planes hit the twin towers on 9-11.
But for sheer beauty & true awe, I would have to say the beautiful scenery in the American Northwest, especially Alaska. My jaw dropped many times during the year I was there. I litterally gasped at some of the truly beautiful scenes there. The Winter drives I took from Homestead, Fla. down to Key West. It looked as if a giant had just sown a handfull of stones across the water. The Fla. Keys are gorgeous that time of yr. Last but not least, the stained glass windows in the (65 yr. old) Harrell Memorial Chapel located at the Methodist Children's home in Waco. Tx. Especially the main one right above the choir. It is of the Good Shepherd & will certainly take your breath away.

I cry from awe. My jaw drops and eye bulge when something bad happens.

The last time I cried from awe was when my nephew was born. Oh he was so perfect. The other time is when I saw the seals performing at under water world - they are so smart and beautiful they make me cry.

My next door neighbours dog was eating a bone one day. His draw dropped when he saw me playing with my dog and the bone fell straight out of his mouth. He sat there with his jaw open for a while. It was so funny and a little strange a dog would do that.

Yes ... on more occasions than I care to even try to recall. Just when I actually think that there are few things in this world that would surprise me ... I find a new shocking thriller that drops my jaw. I could never be a professional poker player!. My facial expressions react before I can attempt to stop it. My face is so filled with expressionism, that at times I have to hide my face ... especially when some one is trying to convince me of a BS story. My eyes are rolling to the back of my head without my knowledge.

Many times in my life I have seen things that were awe striking. I was born during the great depression, and saw people using hand pushed carts and horse drawn wagons to sell thier wares. Then all the way up to men walking on the moon. I have seen all the electronic revolution, and on to most kids expecting to go to college. In my time you graduated from high school, and went to work. Its been an awe inspiring ride.

OH yeah,

*During most of the martial arts tournaments which I compete in, some of the younger guys (I'm 49 yrs. old ...) will do a move during sparing, or execute a form (kata) with such precision, that most of the competitors will literally vocalize something in approval and stand there slack-jawed for a few seconds.

*The very first time I saw this seriously gorgeous mommy bring her kid to the dojo where I take martial arts classes.

**She's really nice, married, three really nice kids, and has a pretty cool husband.

**Everyone who goes to this place (students, parents, etc.) just knows that she's really a stand-out gorgeous babe, and accepts this anomaly, and behave ourselves.

(;=]

There was a moment in time with someone I care about last week, who when doubting in myself before was thought lost, and now back. I can't say anymore of the moment, but it was special and my jaw did drop slightlly. At that moment, I lost all doubts within myself. I will never lose faith again and know that my dreams will come true.

First time I saw the stars in Wyoming, with no moon and no lights anywhere in sight.

Many beautiful things in my life - women, landscapes, paintings, music, buildings, math, physics, a turn of phrase, a stroke of brilliance. Been open-mouthed stunned by stupidity, over and over again - especially in recent years by our current leaders.
