I believe it is a crab apple, but my dad insists that it is not. I want to make a jelly with it, so please let me know if they are crabapples, and if they are edible. If they aren't crabapples, can you please let me know what this is?

Um I live in the northwestern U.S., btw...so I don't think it's any tropical fruit. Definitely not pears lol.

Oh, and I cut them in half, and it looks like the inside of an apple...there aren't any seeds so they're definitely not hardy kiwis.

P.S. They're about the size of a quarter.

They are too big and aren't the right shape to be crabapples. Are they quinces? Take one to your neighborhood garden center for an ID.

Not pairs! lol They look more like a Hy bred Kiwi. They don't have the "hairs" that the tropical ones have. But are hardy in the Midwest.

ok , i think i might be rigth on this one. first thing that came to mind was a GUAVA . i grew up around them in D.R . if not so they sure do look similar.. open one up and see what the middle looks like, should have lots of tiny seeds.and they sweet. its used to make juice as well. check this link and compare.
