No, I don't think you would qualify. There is always that 1 week waiting period, but I don't know that you would qualify.

The only way to find out is to file, and see what happens.

No you cannot collect unemployment if you quit your job. Here in Canada if you are laid off from your job permanently like my husband will be in March of next year. He can apply for retraining for a new job but you have to be completely out of work before the government will pay for your training and give you a training allowance.

In most cases, you can't claim unemployment if you QUIT. There are exceptions if you quit because of unacceptable working conditions. They would not apply to quitting for school.

Of course not, going to school and going for a job are two different things. You personally claim unemployment since at present you are going to school let say to claim your masterial thesis, that is not unemploymed declaration.

you cant claim unemployment if you quit, only if you are laid off or fired and you have to had been working at the place for over a year

The purpose of unemployment compensation is to help people who lost their jobs through no fault of their own, to help their expenses while they are looking for another job.

In your case you leave old job voluntarily, so you not qualify for compensation.

Plus you are going to school, not looking for another job, so you not qualify for that help.

You may be entitled to other benefits; however if you quit, you are not eligible for unemployment benefits.
