I buy frozen fruit peices and put them inside the feeder. It was the ONLY thing that soothed my daughter when she was teething. You can use watermelon balls, grapes, etc. She was about 8/9 months old when I started doing this.

We put just about everything that we eat in those things. At eight months we only put in the things that the boys couldn't chew themselves. We started them on shredded chicken, mashed potatoes and tiny pieces of fruit on their own. And other varied fruits, veggies, and meat that they couldn't chew in the feeder.

never put bananas in those things... they're impossible to remove!!!

any fresh fruit/veggie is great..

my daughter loved honeydew!! I think it was her favorite, and it was nice to put a big hunk of it in there sit her in her high chair, and let her gnaw at it for 20 minutes while I prepared dinner!!

It was my best babysitter at around 9 months :), I even let her have it in her exersaucer while I took showers... let me actually leave conditioner in my hair for a few minutes!

My son's favourite are rice, sweet potatoes and on those hot summer days, ice cubes. We love the feeder!

I put banana in my daughter's.
I have only used it once, I thought it was such a mess.
It was horrible to clean.
I find it easier to cut up the banana and give it to her, plus it's funny watching her try to pick it up and feed herself.
