i can't speak for all parents but i, myself, am obese and i came from an obese family. my youngest daughter was considered obese at age 4 but you can't put a kid that young on a diet. what i did do is at age 5 cut all sweets (candies, sugar sodas, kool aids, and doubles of pastas, potatoes, and other startches) today she is 7 and she LOST NO WEIGHT but grew 8 inches. now she is more proportionate (she is still 5 lbs overweight but that's equivilent to a normal adult being 15 lbs overweight) and of course i am not energetic to exercise with her so we bought a puppy and she runs with the kids so they get more exericise. it was and is my responsibility to make sure my kids eat right and do some form of exericse. so i say YES it's the parents who should be blamed.
on the other side, some diseases cause obesity, too.

No they shouldn't be blamed. If you are going to blame then for ignorance then you have to blame other ignorant people for many other things that happen also !!!! Now if a parent makes you sit at the table until you finish eating should be blamed if that child turns out obese !!!! But no one wants their children to be obese. !!!!!!!!!!!

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Some may be obese for medical reasons and slow metabolisms. Not just by what and how much they're eating. It's also the governments fault for adding growth hormones to everything. What about the parents who force their kids to be on diets to look like the size 0 super models, what about them?

i think of technologies could help to circumvent weight problems in babies. I as a baby continuously performed out soccer, cricket something and whilst it replaced into dark we nevertheless performed soccer in the line below the line lamps. in spite of the undeniable fact that i think of that childrens as we talk have too plenty money to spend, I as a baby did a paper around to earn 13 shillings a week and have been given 10 shillings pocket money. I spent this on information in many cases. in recent times there is this rapid foodstuff. As a baby it replaced right into a manage to have 5 pennies well worth of chips wrapped in newspaper purely in a blue moon. So i think of the mother and father are to blame. i could desire to nicely get grievance for this answer. i'm English so shillings went in approximately 1970 or 1971.

In most cases yes, I've seen way to many over weight children hit the dessert bar at a buffet more than once and no one is discouraging them, plus they let them set in front of the TV or with some stupid game instead of out playing to burn the calories off.

To a point, yes.
*One really CAN fight genetics, up to a point.
*Whenever I see pudgy people with their pudgy kids hanging out in the "junk food aisle" at the local grocers, it really makes me cringe.
*I used to be quite overweight, to the point where I would not be allowed to play little league football.
*I dropped the wgt., and did my best to keep it off over the years.
*My daughter and I present a fit appearance, but my son is really pudgy.
**There's NO junk food in my house (I do all of the grocery shopping), and we all work out for quite a bit most days of the week:
***Two hours of rather strenuous Karate classes three times per week.
***Running and calisthenics for my son during his daily P.E. classes at school.
Sometime pudginess just runs in the family, and we really shouldn't be so quick to judge kids (or their parents).

if it is their fault the kid is obese, then yes.
but if they tried their hardest to keep the kid at a normal weight and the kid was sneaking McDonald's or whatever, then the kid should be blamed.

absolutely they are to blame. parents should be able to stand up to their children (specially when they start to notice that the kids are gaining weight rapidly) and tell them NO! when the kids want fast food. it saddens to me to see so many over weight kids. it is heartbreaking.
of course my answer is for children under 18. because once you're an adult, and you start eating and eating unhealthy/fast food, you have no one to blame but yourself.

to a point yes. Parents don't HAVE to buy McDonalds for their kids
people need to learn how to cook and plan things in advance like fresh fruits, veggies.
