Im from maryland to and i love it here. I just wanted to know what other people think of it. I live right on the chesapeake bay and its great. i agree with everything that everyone said. And i didnt know that OC was rated one of americas top 10 beaches! Thats really cool. And....I LOOVE CRABS! For those not from maryland, im talking about blue crabs steamed in old bay or jo spice. The eastern shore is way better than the western shore in my opinion. I love Kent island.

I am a native of maryland for 21 years. Its got mountains and beaches depending on where you go. It has open spaces, lots of trees, and its VERY green. The harbor in baltimore, baltimore is a great city but not to live in. Neither is any place around baltimore such as PG county. Washington DC area is dangerous, only within the city limits. Frederick or Carrol or howard county is very safe. The Chesapeake bay area (or southern maryland in general) is in my opinion the prettiest although I am not from that area but I want to live there someday. I highly reccomend Maryland! There are no tornadoes, earthquakes, volcanoes, or hurricanes (except near the beach area, ocean city etc.) If you do get remnants of a hurricane its a lot of rain and fun to play in. The winters aren't terrible, some snow. The summers are hot but it just makes it funner to play in the water and go to the beach. Ocean city, md was rated one of the top 10 beaches in the US!
Hope this helps!

Maryland! Kind of an interesting question. I was born and raised in Delaware, so it was in my 'backyard'. It was an ok state. Nice to be on the East Coast and be near so many other big cities (Philly, DC). Annapolis is gorgeous. Baltimore Inner Harbor and Ft. McHenry are must-sees. Love the DC area. Go out in western MD and there are more open areas without must population. I often camped/water skiied on the tributaries of the Chesapeake Bay....very nice area. Beaches (OC) are great. The state truly has a lot to offer depending on what you want...and is near so much.

Being from DC, I was never really into MD. Once I briefly considered moving there, as the housing is cheap, but I quickly withdrew that thought. I love DC too much to give up my residency. But Maryland is an ok state, has good crabs, but is not as great as DC.
