I don't pretend to speak for everyone and I'm no expert but sex is a lot of work, very tiring, and it's often hard to get women to climax. This is often very frustrating for some men so they find it easier to read about it get turned on and get off on their own. That's the reason even a lot of married men masterbate.

Perhaps the one you know are ones that aren't ready to act on their feelings yet? Or perhaps the opportunity to have sex doesn't present itself as often as reading about it does.
