Yes! The building the radio station I work for's elevators are famous for stopping in between floors and trapping you for hours.

I got stuck in one one day. I was so hacked off! I get stuck in the elevator, and nobody else is in the car. Other people get stuck with good looking ladies.... I get stuck alone!

I tried the emergency phone, and the person on the other end of the line told me I would have to wait for a worker to reset the system. I figured to heck with that..... I pry-ed the inner doors open only to find the outer doors did not open. It took me a while to figure out how to jimmy the outer door open. When I did, I found I was stopped between floors. So I took a chance and jumped down to the lower floor. I hit the floor, and almost lost my balance and fell back into the shaft. I re-gained my balance, and went on my happy way.

After that day, I took the stairs.

Yes and it was the elevator right here at home. I was going downstairs with my two little sisters and my girlfriend and we got stuck for an hour and our cell phone's wouldn't work in the elevator because of the led shaft. Now there is an emergency phone in the elevator.
