I know it doesn't mean equal rights for youths and adults because we would all just be citizens. I also heard that "minors would be given the same procedural rights as adults" but I can't figure out what that means.

Pandering to minors...an all time new low for the socialists! Democrats should be glowing with pride!

An important ingredient of socialism is to destroy the nuclear family. In the former Soviet Union or in today's Cuba, children are indoctrinated to be citizens first. This includes rewarding children for reporting their parents for forbidden activities.

Now, such a step in America cannot be done all at once. But if implemented incrementally, if carefully cloaked in the "helping the children" camouflage it can be achieved along with the other prerequisites for socialism: Atheism, control of mass media, restriction of free speech and loss of private property rights.

Have you noticed an increase in pressure on these other points over the last fifty or so years? I have. The EPA now dictates what one can and cannot do with one's own private property. There have been many attempts (many successful) to remove God from pulbic life. No longer can one pray in school, towns are severly restricted in what type of decorations they can have on public property, Christmas and Easter vacation are no longer recognized in many public schools, attempts are being made to resurect the "Fairness Doctrine", all news networks report the same stories using the same words and if one goes against the grain it is demonized for it.

Next in the socialist crosshairs is the family. The first step was to subsidize single motherhood. Then they made divorce easier. Then they made cohabitation socially acceptable, now gay marriage is being attempted. Gay marriage is not about allowing Gay people to have legal status but to further undermine the definition of what a family is.

If you have not been paying attention or if you re too young to know, many words have been re-defined over the last several decades. None of the above have happened by accident. This is part of a long slow spiral downward from the land of the Free and the Home of the Brave to the land of the submissive and the centralized power of Big Brother.

It will give even small children the right to sue their parents.

Parents could lose everything they own if they made a child go to bed too early. Or grounded them without "just cause".

(This is why the Trial Lawyers give millions of dollars to the Democrat Party.)

It's an appeal to the next generation; similar to health care for children, that excludes parents who are responsible for them.

All social programs should be made available to the head(s) of the family.

A link would've been helpful in figuring out what you're talking about...

According to what I've read about the law, it went into effect Feb 1, 2001...

Why are you bringing it up now?

I live in the U.S. and I think it has something to do with giving amnesty for illegal immigrants from Mexico. I guess the children that were born from the illegal parents get to be a citizen of the U.S. which I am absolutely against.
