He is an African Sideneck. He loves worms and fish, but again, hates the fruits, vegetables and even floating turtle food.

He is almost always in water, barely ever comes out to bask. His shell is about 5 inches. I am pretty sure is is quite young. Right now he is in a 20 gallon tank, but I am going to get him a 55 tomorrow. I got him as a gift and the person who gave him to me, gave me the 20 gallon. So far I have invested $300 in him, so I'd like for him to live a long and happy life.

What kind of turtle is it? This would be about right if this was a snapping turtle. The are flesh eaters & will not eat fruit/veggies.

If he likes meat then give him worms, pinkies, grubs.. Turtles do not have to eat veggies..

well that's a bad sign those are there favorite foods. you should bring him/her to a vet
