its okay as long as it stays in the tank. i dont need much attention. just enough nourishment to keep it alive. and enough space in the tank.

Certain types of geckos could make good pets, leopard geckos and crested geckos come immediately to mind. Most other species of gecko, while beautiful to look at, do not tolerate handling, and some, like the tokay gecko, can be extremely aggressive. Also be aware that a gecko losing it's tail is not something that should be considered a normal occurance. It happens as a result of an injury, or as an escape tactic (picking the lizard up by the tail, etc). The best case scenario is for your gecko to never drop it's tail. Although they do grow back, they will never be as good as the original, and the site of the injury can become infected if you're not careful.

Not much , Put some Logs, A spot light , a basking rock and possibly a heat pad under half of the cage,a very shallow water dish, they eat Crickets, meal worms, waxy worms, and back yard bugs.
leapord geckos are the best for beginners.
dont ever grab them by the tail. It will propably come off.
Leopard geckos are pretty lazy and slow geckos so they wont get away easily, which is good.
they only need a 10gallon cage
1-3 can easily live in that size of cage
if you want whats best for the lizards DONT use newspaper. Use bark chips, sand, or a mixture of the two.
they like to climb so give some branches atleast as big as the lizard.
get one and good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A (leopard) gecko would be a great pet. You only need a ten-twenty gallon tank with newspaper or paper towels, 2 hiding places (one wet and one dry), a water dish and a food dish. Feel free to use sand and add rock or branches. They are great pets. I got mine when I was eight and he is still healthy. They are relatively cheap, hardy, and hardly bite. Your son would love one!!!!!

A 15-20 gallon tank, an under tank heater mat (they stick to bottom of tank), 3 hides, other furniture to climb, a water dish, a calcium dish. No loose sand or other loose substrate on the bottom. No special lights needs or heat bulbs. Need to eat gutloaded crickets and mealworms. Vitamins on insects a few times a week (plain calcium, and a multivitamin). Not hard to care for IF you provide everything they need right from the beginning! Go to this site for complete care info:

Christine gave you excellent advice on your question and covered the whole thing basically. Things we had for our gecko's were a small fish tank. Some logs,a rock, a bask for water and some crickets to eat.and it is pretty cool to watch their tails come off. You just watch it move..i sat there when i saw it first come off..lol. Good Luck. Kelly
