Your doctors have not considered him to be maybe lactose intolerant? This usually happens with infants and children who are lactose in tolerate. I would change his formula to soy and see what happens. To say no one threw up as much as your son and put your baby on Zantac without any tests to find out what the problem is, and it has not helped the problem is inexcusable and stupid in my opinion. There also can be another problem where the flap of the esophagus does not close and causes the baby to do this. There is also a danger of your baby inhaling the vomit into his lungs and getting chemical pneumonia.
If he is lactose intolerant that is why he is vomitting, and he should not be drinking cow's milk. The Zantac is not going to do anything for the problem. Change his milk to someting that does not have cow's milk in it.

Maybe he is allergic to milk. My kids aren't allergic but are lactose intolerant. They threw up allot and where on Zantac. Since they put them on lactose free milk they haven't needed any meds and the throwing up has gotten way better. Maybe you should try not giving him any thing that has milk in it and put him on a lacto-free formula for a couple of days and see if it helps.

For his formula use some rice cereal in it to make it thicker so it will stay down. He apparently has a weak flap to keep things in his tummy. If your doctor isnt taking you seriously ask for a referall to a Gastroenterologist or go see another pediatrician. My son threw up a lot and his doc said to thicken things with rice cereal to make it heavier as thin liquids come up easier but some kids have something more wrong so keep after them and dont back down. keep a journal of it if you have to and show it when you go to see them. A detailed listing of the problem is always a help.

hi, i gave birth 9 days ago to my 3rd child. my daughter started having th same issues. her doctor suggested 2 things- that she has acid reflux and that she may be sensitive to protein. yes, she was put on zantac. we changed her formula to alimentum by similac. in addition to formula changing, my doctor suggest to prop her up at a 30 degree angle at all times. we had to get a car seat for her to sleep in. this seemed to help her tremendously. i sympathize with you. it is hard and frustrating. i hope elevating your little boy will help. check to see if he is allergic to the milk he is drinking as well. oh, get a new doctor. that doctor doesn't seem too caring and doesn't share your concerns. hope i was able to help.

You need a second opinion. This is not normal and your doctors should do an ultrasound. My doctor had one done on my son at three weeks because he'd throw up and he was losing weight. They have to rule out everything.

It's what babies do.
You may want to ask your doctor if your baby might be allergic to milk. My baby sister was allergic to normal milk for awhile. So she threw up more than most.
Also, if they eat or drink too fast or too much, but in most cases it is normal. Doctor knows best :)

The milk may be too rich for him. Try soy or skim milk. Also cut back on the amount and frequency of feeding. Good luck.
