Katrina wasn't THAT strong, it was the fact that the city of new orleans is sloped down, like in a giant hole, and when a hurricane comes by it's going to flood, just like a retention pond. Alltough it affected the lifes of many, it was just as strong. Hurricane dean is probably just as strong as jeannie, charlie, dean, camielle, exc. Take it from someone who's been through ALL the hurricanes. alot of the other hurricanes were also category 5's.

i dont know how strong Dean is, but I know that katrina was so strong that she affected EVERYTHING in my life!!
my house, dead family, it was the worst storm in history since hurricane Camille, i just hope and pray that hurrican Dean dies out!

Depends at what point you measure them. Katrina was a 5 but subsided to a 4 .
