Rape is illegal... where do you come from?

I assume you mean "if rape was legal". The answer's obviously no, but I'll comment anyway. There are cultures throughout history (ancient israel, the Greeks and Romans, certain Moslem countries today, etc.) where there technically were never any laws against rape. But in most cases you still would have gotten into trouble for doing it. Having any kind of intercourse (whether consensual or not) with another man's wife or a non-married woman was considered a serious offense much as rape is today. Although the act would have been considered a crime against the woman's family or her husband (or her owner, if she was a slave) rather than the woman herself, because women always belonged to somebody else or otherwise were not recognized as full citizens. In such cultures, a man could only legally get away with what we define as rape if he did it to his own wife or slaves.

I think your question is -- if rape were "legal" -- not illegal.

No, I would not -- because the concept of forcing anyone to do anything against their will repulsive to me.
