Do you think that Yahoo! Answers should raise the age of the users? If so, what should they raise the age to? I say at least 16.

Little Red- That is a great idea!!! They could call it Yahoo! Kid's Answers for anyone under a certain age. If it would let me, I would give you best answer right now.

Joe Bleu- If they actually came on here and asked serious questions then that is one thing, but they come on here asking pointless stuff like if they they are hot or not.

I'm not sure raising the age is what we need, how about making a category just for teenagers.

Yep I think 9 is a good age, ok seriously 13 is when kids start having the most trouble and need to have their questions heard and other kids don't have the experience to answer them all.

It sounds to me that you are really talking about trolls anyway and I'd bet they are mostly over 16 so all you will achieve is cutting off a bunch of kids and the trolls will still be here.

This place isn't bad enough to rate a age limit.
Everything kids see here they will see at home as well and some need to talk to older people from afar to keep their dirty little secrets a secret.
Though I guess you could push and cut them off from the help they seek.
I've seen people on here who ask things they'd never ask at home because of the negative effects it could have on their lives.

Not everyone has good parents who except them the way they are so yes there is reason not to run to those type parents or even some friends.
On the news we see what happens when some kids tell their friends their secrets, they were killed, beaten whatever.

Face it some friends aren't friends at all.
And we really never know anyone completely, do we.
Try being realistic instead of selfish, to many adults think they know it all and don't know shitt.

No, a lot of people need homework help, and there's a section for it too. Plus, many people are curious about stuff. And the biggest point, who the HECK would listen to it anyway? Like no one can fake their age?
Maybe there can be a certain section though...
Oh, and by the way, do you really think those under 18 haven't looked at this? You only made them look at it more by naming the question, "For those over 18?"

yes i think it should be raised to about 16, because there is some adult content, but how would they stop younger kids from going on here, when they can very easily lie about there age, but there are a few points that makes me think no it shouldnt like 'younge ladies' needing to ask questions in womens health section because they dont feel they can ask there parents.

That has been suggested over on the suggestion board, and as recently as a few months ago, Yahoo said they were not interested.

Good Idea though... it would stop most of the drama on here..

I totally agree.. 16 would be fine. But kids would just lie and say they were 16 to get on. It's not fair, but it's true.
