buying a cahin at the store. I JUST came home so I dont feel like going out. I am trying to think of any way I can use something to substitute the toilet chain. Cuz I accidently flushed it down the back of the toilet. OOPPS. Anyway best answer gets 10 points :)

I hate when that happens...I have used string in the past.
I always have the intention of going back and putting a new chain in but I forget easilly once the prob is fixed.
Try yarn or any kind of string, or dental floss.

Would a metal coat hanger work? A strong necklace? A metal chain hanger from a garden planter or bird feeder? Could also not worry about it and manually lift the suction thingy until you got out next. Just leave the tank lid off.

Use a shoe string from an old pair of shoes. Or a wire tie from a loaf of bread.

Try a plastic tie, like they use to bundle wires.
