wow, know what, mama? i was going to ask a similar ??? tonight. but now i dont have to, haha.
i really dig the way they disassociate themselves from the Govt as much as the law allows. they pay their bills, and they work hard, and they stand strong in their beliefs. i may not agree with their religion, but that matters not

Why are you doing this assessment? What sort of adjustments or similarities are you searching for? For similarities, yet another agrarian society which includes one in Africa or significant Asia like Tibet or Mongolia. For adjustments, present day American or ecu could be good. From a historic perspective, assessment it to Roman Catholicism in the process the midsection a while.

I'm not sure- but I don't think about cultures, I don't judge them. I have nothing against the Amish, let's put it that way.

I think they're hard-working, religious people who have chosen to separate themselves from the rest of the world.
I grew up in Pennsylvania and used to go to Amish country for a taste of their wonderful cooking.
I respect their right to privacy and the way they choose to live their lives.

They live a very different lifestyle then most of the world as they are very secluded and don't believe in electricity and TV and whatever else. I don't think that I could live that lifestyle.

I think it`s great! I personally could not see myself live like they do, but I like the fact that they are hard working people who are not materialistic. I think we all need a little bit of that.

whatever floats their boat...i bet they think are culture is wierd...i suppose if i grew up within it i wouldnt have any problems with it...we are on the outside looking in...it's a ttl different experience being on the inside looking out.x.
