The problem is:

x^3 - 8 / x - 2

I don't need the answer, all I need is how to atleast attempt this problem, as I am stuck. Thank You.

U just got to remember these formulas,
a^3 + b^3 = (a + b)(a^2 - ab + b^2)
a^3 - b^3 = (a - b)(a^2 + ab + b^2)

x^3 - 8
= x^3 - 2^3
= (x - 2)(x^2 + 2x + 4)

actually you NEED to USE parenthesis,
otherwise your problem is very different:
without parenthesis:x^3 - 8 / x - 2 cannot be simplified any further,
with parenthesis:
(x^3 - 8) / (x - 2) = (x-2) (x^2 + 2x + 2) / (x-2) = x^2 + 2x + 2
