This one guy from my school was using my friend through IMing to get to MY feelings, cause I tell my friend everything. It got to the point where I gave him a note asking him out, but he wrote back no. I feel like I was brainwashed. Do guys do this for fun? oh, btw, I didn't know that first part till AFTER I asked him out.

Your friend should know that what you tell her is confidential. She is only allowed to tell others what you allow her to tell her. If she doesn't know this basic fact of friendship, tell her.
You weren't brainwashed, but tricked. He wanted to humiliate you by rejecting you, and he did. This is sadistic and not all guys are like this. Write him off and have it out with your friend.
