Personally, it depends on what use I wanted it for. For a desk top computer, I would use it for my games and important documents. A laptop is too easy to lose and if I lose some of the files I need, it would not be good. However, at the same time, a laptop comes in handy. It is portable, lightweight, and easy to use. In fact some laptops are more powerful then the average home computer. A laptop is convenient when I am on the go and need to jot down a quick information or look up an article. As I mentioned before, whatever you want to use the computer for, is the appropriate choice.

If I could only choose one it would be the desk top. It is less expensive and has better computing power and speed. It's not portable. If your application requires portability you don't have much of an option do you? Where will you use it most?

I would choose the laptop. Laptops are the future. Desktop computers are not portable, do not offer wireless without buying additional adapters, and they are still bulky (even though they've shrunk in size over the years).
The ability to take your computer with you and get connected through wi-fi is sensational! Even if you're not in college needing it for classes, or using it for work purposes, you will love it!

Desk top computer. Laptops are really expensive and i can't stand the keyboard on a laptop.

well in this house i can either have a desk top or the choice of six laptops so there are plenty of choices. i perfer laptop as you can use it anywhere just keep forgeting not to block the fans and it gets rather hot ! ;-)

i guess laptop . i currently have a flat screen computer but i like laptops better. because every time i think of something i want to look up i have to come up stairs ,turn on a computer and look it up.

I use my desktop at home for convenience and my laptop when I am on the road for the same reasons.
