Sometimes Norman Chad, an ESPN commentator who covers the World Series of Poker, sometimes says that someone is giving an "ooshka-ooshka look." I'm spelling out the word phonetically, as I don't know the actual spelling of the word.

This phrase is killing me. What is "ooshka," what does it mean, where does it come from, and how do you spell it? I know, I'm odd, but I'm compulsive like that. I won't sleep until I find out the answer.

I realize that another term that Norman uses -- whamboozled -- is his invention, but it is a combination of "wham" and "bamboozle," so it's not completely made up. At any rate, "ooshka-ooshka look" has to come from somewhere. Can anyone help me out? Thanks.

I'm sorry, Norman, I don't know the answer to your question, but I give you my highest rating for asking a question articulately.

I don't think the word has any "actual" meaning. It describes a look, and the best way to describe that look is "ooshka-ooshka." Very uncomfortable. It's almost like an onomatopoeia, but not quite.
