The slope of a line is "rise over run."

"Rise" is the vertical distance, or 1800 feet.

"Run" is the horizontal distance, or 3.25 miles. 3.25 miles times 5280 ft/mile = 17,160 ft.

The slope then = 1800/17160 = 0.104895

To the nearest hundredth = 0.10

Slope is defined by rise over run. In this case, 1800 ft is the rise and 3.25 miles is the run.

You will need to convert 3.25 mile to feet ==> 17160 feet

Now divide ==> 1800/17160 = 0.10

The slope is 0.10
