Because the "sting" set up by Perverted Justice (NBC's "consultant" on the series) and a local police department set up the suicide of an attorney. His widow is suing the socks off NBC. So, 20/20 is focusing on whether Perverted Justice is getting NBC and others involved in vigilante justice.

It seems to be because of a disturbing trend of 0 arrests out of however many suspects are brought in through a Dateline Sting.
If they can't make the arrests, someone must be doing something wrong.
I think the police and DAs are just embarrassed by the success of Dateline, myself, and are trying to discredit them. I hope the reporters investigate that angle as well.
