Study Alexander the Great who was homosexual , the Spartans also had homosexual relations, the Romans ancient Greece and Pompeii and you may be surprised at the amount of homosexual activity around. These are all documented in history. Pompeii had frescoes or paintings on the walls and statues of such. Read Josephus and the Iliad and you might be surprised at the goings on of the ancients.Sometimes they used boys for pleasure and women for breeding. I am not making this up. Read your history books.

Homosexuality has been around since humans evolved and it occurs in many other species as well. In some societies around the world it has always been accepted but in others it has been persecuted. Even today it is punishable by death in some countries - yet it still exists. Fortunately most countries have seen the error of their ways and do not hang or behead homosexuals any more.

Yes!! There were just as many of them "Rump Roasters" and "Sally Slappers" then as there is now! Just back then if it was found out about you would most likely be deemed a deviant and either kicked out of town or hung! They sure did not want a lot of that stuff going on in those days did they!!

Ever heard of Oscar Wilde????????

Homosexuality has been around ever since mankind has existed.

Oh, and if, when you are referring to people being accused as being witches, that you are referring to the "Salem Witch Trials" ... those being the most famous... or "infamous"... of such incidents... they occurred in 1692... not the 1800's!

LOL of course there were....... there have ALWAYS been, since the age of the Greeks..... they just weren't as open about it as they are now, maybe they wouldn't have been hanged or burnt but they would definitely have been rejected by society, maybe harrassed, molested, etc. There were so many prejudices back then -- there still are, unfortunately.

**** yea, there were gays and lesbians for thousands of years!!! It's a part of humanity, our sexuality is what it defines as we enter puberty - we are not the authors of our own sexuality as we grow up.

The Salem trials? Christian ignorance in the name of racial purity, ******* morons!

I think there were. But, they probably wouldn't have told their sexual preference publically in risk of being an outsider.
