It can take a long time to gain my complete trust. I tend to look for a reason to trust someone rather than leave myself exposed. I wish I weren't that way, but I learned pretty early in life that an awful lot of people have hidden agendas and work pretty hard at keeping them hidden. I'm sorry to say that life experience has only reinforced that tendency in me. On the upside, I can say that I tend to get burned a lot less than some people.

I trust them until I have a reason not to - when the trust is gone there's no way to get it back in my book.

I do not trust them until I have a reason to trust. This I have learned from experience. Wolves hide in sheep's' clothing. Of course, when I mean trust I mean the big things. Most small things do not matter.

I usually trust someone until I feel I have a reason not too.. But I also go with my instinct on some people.. Sometimes you have a feeling you should trust them or a feeling that you shouldn't..
Also, someones backgroun in relationships etc may help you decide whether the person is trustworthy or not.

I don't trust anyone until I have reason to trust them. Great question. I always thought that I trusted people until they proved themselves to unworthy of trust. Now, I'm actually quite the opposite. I seek reason to trust or not trust.

Thanks for pointing it out.

I find it's best to start out with about a medium level of trust... you can get too hurt if you start out with high expectations. Trust everybody until they have given you reason not to, but don't trust them with anything IMPORTANT until they have given you reason to. Find a happy medium!!
