History question or not, I'll give you an answer.

I wanted to help people, I wanted something I could be proud or, I wanted to be a help to my community. I was always an above average student so, I entered the health community. It was hard but I gained the top of all my classes. I went into the research area in Medial lab technology and aced all my classes.
The problem was, a janitor was making more money then I was. I worked on construction while working through school. I made $7.02 an hour working for a large hospital as a supervisor in their lab.
I also made $21.00 an hour working a back-hoe on construction. I had a family now, we had to eat, I didn't have medical by the way, the hospital wouldn't allow it, we had no union.
I eventually went into business for myself in the contracting business using my math and other educated means. When I retired I was making more then the director of the medical school whom I was in contact with.
