Women try different things and some work for some when not for others. I believe there are no home remedies of drinking things, swallowing or eating anything to help. They say to walk, use birthing balls, have sex etc. I believe the baby will come when he/she is ready. The only way to go into labor by using something is to go in and be induced. Sorry to be bad news but I don't want you to wear yourself out drinking nasty stuff (castor oil) and get no results. Try all you want and if it happens congrats! if not then waiting is about all you will be able to do.`
Congrats and hope baby comes soon!

Dear Sam,
Lissy is right, activity is the key here. Have a little patience, everything will come out okay.
Here, you need to realize that God is in charge. When your babe is ready to appear, it will happen. If it hasn't come yet, there is a reason. Each child born is a special and unique event in all the world. Aren't you lucky to experience this? It is a wonder you will have all your life. :) Relax and enjoy the moment, you will never have another pregnancy or another child like this one at this time.
And, yes, the muscle tightening is a sign of early contractions. The better your body becomes at them, the longer and the stronger they will get. Work is being done on your body and the baby to culminate in the birth of your child.
Stay strong, be patient (you'll still hear this even after the baby comes), and live in the moment. You'll do. :) Oh, prepare yourself to love like you've never loved before. You're in for the most wonderful time of your life. :) Good luck, Sweetie.

God Bless You. Sounds like your doing all the right things. Many people say don't do it, but I have personally known several people, including myself, that took a laxative when they were this close. That usually does it. It's up to you whether you want to do this or not. Good luck... I hope for a short labor and a beautiful baby for you.

Sounds like the tightening is the contractions....that is what it feels like is a tightening feeling....the pain will increase as the contractions do....the sex and walking is the only thing you can do....the spicy foods doesn't really do anything.....Just keep being active and it will happen....

I've known a lot of women who've gone past their due date w/ their first baby. So, I wouldn't be surprised if your due date comes and goes. If you go a week after your due date they'll usually induce you anyways. Good luck!

nothing can bring on labour really the baby will come when it's ready, i know it is frustrating as i have had 2 children myself, but nothing i tried worked, my children came when they were ready, sometimes i wish i could put them back in there really, only when they are playing up it was so much easier when they were inside me no sleepless nights, although i wouldn't change them for the world

Have you lost your mucous plug yet? If you have your body is already getting ready for labor. If you haven't you will most likely go past your due date.
