My wife and I just had a newborn baby boy. He is great but he doesn't have any of my features.... No part of his body or face looks anything like mine. I have blonde hair he has dark hair and so forth. Is there anyway to tell other then DNA? My wife swears she has never cheated. Please help!

It isn't necessarily your features, it could be your wife's, OR recessive genes from either of your families.

It would definitely cause problems to bring this up to your wife so you've made a good move not doing it. One thing to keep in mind is that for a LONG time the baby is going to still be developing. When my son was born he looked like a baby. Not like me or like my husband, just like a baby. Now that he is 3 years old he's my husband's little clone running around the house. Give it some time. Let the baby develop some. There are also lots of recessive genes that we all carry around with us so just because he doesn't have your hair color doesn't mean anything. My husband is from a very hispanic mother and father but has light brown hair, hazel eyes, and paler skin than me (and I am a WAY white girl). Those came from his maternal grandmother. Give it time. Don't say anything to your wife that you are going to regret the moment the words finish coming out of your mouth and just enjoy the baby. Congratulations on your new addition!

My son looked NOTHING like my husband (boyfriend at the time) when he was born. Guess what though...he is 100% his child. Babies change so much especially the first year of life so don't freak out too soon. If you suspect your wife of cheating on the other hand, get a DNA test done ASAP! This may upset her but you need to sit her down & be really honest w/ her about your feelings. A real woman will want to do what's best for her child & her family all pride aside. I did! No matter how hurt I was when my boyfriend asked for a DNA test, I did it for my son who is the center of my husbands world! Good Luck Babes! I know it's hard but trust, you aren't alone. Women cheat too. Remember though, he doesn't have to look like you to be your child.

When my son was born he looked like an alien! He had dark red hair(which doesn't run in my family or my ex-husband's AT ALL!!!) He didn't have any of my features. Now that he has grown into a gorgeous little blonde boy he has my feet and looks like his dad. I don't look anything like either one of my parents. I watched this show on Eva Longoria. She was with her sister and parents. They were all over weight and ugly. What I'm trying to say is it is different for everybody. You can look just like a family member or nothing like a family member. Stop freaking out and enjoy the new baby. When the baby get's older features will change. He isn't going to look like a little newborn the rest of his life!!

Obviously you and your wife have serious trust issues. Babies are born every day that don't look like either parent it's the joys of genetics. Even if you both have very strong similarity and features you can have recessive genes that combine into a totally different look in the baby.
Sorry about your fears but the only way to confirm this little boy is your is a DNA test.

newborn babies aren't born looking like little clones! you sound very insecure but surely you know that of course DNA is the only sure way to tell. by the way a couple that is married(doesn't cheat) and has a child born with red hair even though neither parent does, doesn't mean a red headed intruder raped the wife while she slept through the whole thing. it is called genetics. you learn this usually in middle school, def. in high school.

No way to tell other than DNA...my parents both have brown hair and brown eyes and so do I. My younger brother has blonde hair and blue eyes--turns out, so did my dad's father when he was a child. You and your wife both might want a DNA test to prove he belongs to both of you if he doesn't look like her, either. It's possible that he was switched at the hospital? Just love him--it doesn't matter if he is yours or not. He thinks he is and that's all that matters.

A couple of things, the baby's features are going to change so drastically over the next several months. It's weird and no explaination as to why certain genes will come through. My nephew has blonde hir blue eyes, my sis has red hair brown eyes my bro in law has brown hair brown eyes, he looked nothing like my bro in law when he was lil now he has some of his features. I would drop the issue with your wife... the baby can sense stress especially if she is nursing.

As many other people have said, genetics is like roulette. You could have someone way back in your ancestry that looks just like your son. I don't look a thing like my parents, but I look just like pictures of my grandmother and her sister when they were younger.
I used to work at a daycare, and there was a little boy there with blonde hair, blue eyes, and fair skin. His name was Carlos - his dad was Hispanic, and the mom had dark hair and dark eyes also. You really never know what you're going to get!
Kids also change a lot when they are very young. My daughter didn't look like anyone in the family when she was born, but now she looks just like her father.

When I was born, my father quarelled with the nurse in the hospital as he thought I was an Indian baby and the nurse made a mistake. (no offense to Indians) I had very curly hair too. Both my parents are fair. Now I'm 30 yrs old. I'm fair and my hair have straightened alot (I never do hair rebonding). My eldest and youngest daughters look alike but my second one is very tan and looked like a boy. My mom-in-law always said that she doesn't look like anyone of us. When I told her, my second girl looked like me when I was a baby, she doesn't believe. Of course, my own parents believe because I was like that once. Now my second girl look like a princess, 360 degree change.
Babies change as they grow. Needless to say, yours only just newborn. It's hard to say anything now. Wait till he's at least 3 yrs old.

:) u answred ur own question! you are sure that he is ur wife's son atleast since she gave birth to him! And if the baby doesnt resembles her and u r ok with it how can u not be ok with him not resembling u!
You both just had such a wonderful little guy between you two enjoy his each and every moment, see what new things he does, forget abt these useless issues! My baby doesnt looked like either me or my husband till now when he is nearly 5 months old and we do see a little bit of me and my husband there! babies change tremendously in the first year so just relax, be supportive of your wife since she went through so much in the past couple of months, dont trouble urself or her with these useless thoughts!
All the best!
