The slope must be -2 and not -2y or it would not be a straight line. So the equation would be
y = mx + C or y = -2 x + C
now if x = 0, y = c
Since the intercept or a point on the line is (0,4)
Therefore at x = 0, y = 4
Therefore, the equation is y = -2x + 4

Hot chick, you are not getting the idea of slope. Slope has no "y" value; it is just a number which indicates how "tilted" a line is and by the sign, in which direction.
