I have an HP Deskjet 5740. it's a color printer with a color cartridge in it.
Whenever i try to print something in color, it doesn't let me. The paper comes out blank.
I've checked the ink levels and the color carttridge is full, so it's not out of ink.
But I don't know why it won't print in color.
Someone help???

IF you haven't used the printer in more than about 30 days the cartridge is dry.

You will need to run a bunch of print head cleanings and here is the file path

From any window go to
Print----> Properties----->Services or Maintenance-----> Clean the print heads or Nozzles.

Of you do not see any improvement after about the first half dozen cleanings you need to replace the cartridge.

In the future, run a print head cleaning every 2-3 weeks when you are not using the printer often to ensure you never have this problem again.

FYI, if the cartridges turn out to be garbage call Tech Support. The cartridges each have a 1yr warranty on them. Tech support will replace them.

Is it a new ink cartridge? Did you remove the plastic tab covering the ink holes?
