I've been answering questions about what people should wear on their first day of school, which apparently is tomorrow for them. i was confused, because i live in Canada, and we don't start school until the first week of september.
anyways when do you guys start and end school?

I start the 27, my cousins start Wed. so it all depends on the school district.

Every state determines the minimum number of days each year for the required schooling. Within each state there are a large number of separate school districts. Some are very large such as New York City which has over 1 million students and others are quite small having perhaps a few hundred students. These semi-independent school districts establish their own school schedules subject to the minimum number of days required by the state that they are in. Schools usually begin between the third week in August and the second week in September. The last day of school varies from the beginning of June until the end of June.

Here in California, we start school in early September, and school lasts until around June. Public high school is free, but there are independent high schools and catholic schools that cost money. These high schools generally differ in holidays and start/finishes. Normally you have around a week off for holidays, depending on the holiday. Sometimes you only get a day. Because our school weeks consist of 2 days off (called weekends) and five day school weeks (saturday & sunday off, monday through friday in school), we sometimes have "four day weekends" in which we have the monday before weekends off as well as the friday after. Good luck with high school; I'm sure you'll do fine. People here love kids from other countries =). heheh

It depends on the area, like the state and which city the school is in. well I live in New York and I start in September 6th and I end on June 26. But In other areas in the USA they start as early as july and leave like in April or May.

depends on the area. some started two weeks ago, but some won't start for another week.. each county comes up with their own start dates
my parents county started on last monday, but the town next to them started a week before that
