I love this question. I have found over the years, that some people will dress differently, or dye their hair a crazy color, or pierce places in their face, and then get an attitude if someone else looks at them. They say things like "I don't want to dress/look/talk like everyone else. I want to be an individual" and then they and their closest 20 friends walk around goth/emo/punk wearing the same attention getting outfits.
I don't judge people on their looks. But I have gotten A LOT of attitude from people with a giant chip on their shoulder because they are insecure with themselves. They think they have to stand out, so they stand out in some sort of outrageous way. It's like they want attention, but when they get it, its not the attention they want.
I'm not saying you are judged because of what you wear. People judge me because I am so tall. They naturally assume I am great at basketball. I guess it's human nature.

Oh, Darlin, how I wish I could say that that NEVER happens to anyone! Sadly, that isn't the case. I don't know what you were "judged" on, but mine has been on several fronts. First, I've been judged simply because I'm female. Second, I've been judged because I have a physical challenge that is evident (problem with a leg). Third, I've been judged because I have gray hair. Should I go on? It's happened to me because of the clothes I love to wear, the friends that I've choosen, etc. Remember, Hon, when folks point a finger at you--there are four pointing back at them! Alot of times this is the only way people can make themselves feel important or intelligent. Go figure. Remember:
"I matter. I am important to alot of people. I have value and worth." You see, I like you and we've never met. But with your question, you've shown that you have compassion, are sensitive, and would never do to another what has been done to you.
Good luck, honey, and God bless.
