Has Hurricane Dean actually made landfall anywhere yet? Nearly ANY large charity can put you in touch with a group that will help. The military is not and should not be a relief organization. The purpose of a military is fighting wars.

If your a doctor google doctors without borders. If not red croos. If you can't find anything buy your own plane ticket. And if you can't afford a ticket borrow a boat.

If you are not trained you may do more harm than good. I wouldn't be so harsh on the military, they may save your life.
