My fiance & I will be spending the day with family. My son & his wife are planning a very special meal, but they're keeping it surprise. I'm sure we'll be pleasantly surprised as both my son & his wife are great cooks. I really look forward to family time, especially time spent with my three granddaughters. I only wish my son & his family in Florida could come up & join us. I miss my two grandsons. Maybe next year. :)

nubiangeek....I envy you going to CP. When I lived in Ohio, until a year ago, I used to go quite often. Have a great time. :)

Linda S. I am so sorry for your loss. Having lost my 15 y/o son in 1988, I know exactly how hard the holidays can be for a parent, especially a mom. All the holidays are hard for me but with my family, I get through them. I can't visit my son's grave because I don't live in the same state anymore, so I have to rely on my ex to do so. You'll be in my thoughts. :)

magickgirl....That sounds like a great way to celebrate the holiday. I'm sure your dad will be happy to hear from you & he'll really be happy to see you at Christmas. That'll be great gift for all of you. :)

I don't know. I rarely know. If one of my in-laws doesn't call or email me of plans, hubby will just grab his keys and say "Let's go." That used to drive me nuts. I'm mean, I am female; I need to know where I'm going so I know what to wear and, at the very least, what kind of shoes to have on. Why don't men get that? LOL! Now I know enough to be dressed comfortably, wear walking shoes but have others in the car in case dancing is in the picture, have the camera ready to grab and go! It's always an adventure!

Holidays are especially hard for me. It is a time when families get together and enjoy each others company. This will be my 5th labor day without my beloved daughter. I will visit her grave and spend a quiet day at home with my husband and the dogs.

Moving, the lease is up on this apartment at the end of the month. My roommate is leaving today to return to China to work. I hope I'm not still trying to find someone to commit to helping me move. I have visions of getting in my car with my cat and leaving everything behind because I have no way to move it.

Long weekends and holidays mean nothing to me without family. Once they left the nest they never returned, not even for holidays. Its just another weekend.

My fiance, his son, my two boys and I will spend Labor Day together. We will go out to eat. Then I will probably call my dad and talk to him because we live 450 miles way from him. He is in the nursing home in Lafayette, Indiana. We will go see him for Christmas time and my boys and I can't wait till we see him. That is what I'm doing for Labor Day just spending it with family.

No, not yet. It is also my daughters wedding anniversary and that means I get my grandson for the entire weekend! So, I do know he will be with me. Other than that? We did talk about going to the cabin and getting away for those days but, it is not a "for sure" thing yet.

So, no, I am not sure that we will be doing anything.

Shortstuff, I don't have any plans for the holiday. I told you I found my sister. Maybe I will spend some time with her or my children. Nobody mentioned what they were doing yet. You have your special meal and enjoy your Grand kids. They are wonderful.

we've been attempting for years to hit upon some couple-acquaintances that are relaxing to dangle out with. We deliberate on taking a journey to the mountains on Saturday with our friends, yet they have been having family contributors time with the youngsters (young toddlers). no you could actually pop out and dangle with us. So we wiped clean the kitchen on Saturday. Sunday I picked mom up on the nursing abode and took her for a journey to the mountains on an identical time as my husband watched the drag races from Indy. Monday (at present) he's taking me to the flicks and out to lunch. On our tenth wedding ceremony anniversary Sept 13, he has to flow in for yet another operation.
