Here's a simple solution, as I've recently come across the same quagmire.
Guide cursor up to top left and 'right
click' onto either File..edit..view..favorites..tools.. icons..
or help.
This should bring up a mini screen with a list.
'Left click' either the address screen
or the google selection on that list.
Change should take place immediately.
Make an error: all you have to do is repeat the previous steps and 'left click' your selection again. This should put it back up on your screen.

hi, i think you are trying to delete google or other search bar history what pops up on the search bar when you type another search on it.To delete/clear search bar from. try this :
1. goto tools > options > privacy > then "uncheck" What i enter in forms and the search bar [ this is for mozila firefox]
or
2. goto tools > options > content > autocomplete > then "uncheck" all options(web address,forms,user names password on forms) also click on clear forms and clear password.[ this is for microsoft internet explorer]

click inside the searchbox and press your downarrow key or click the settings button and select "Clear Recent Searches" in the yahoo one. not sure about the google one as I don't have that one.

While in Yahoo click on Tools(near the top)then click clear private data--that should do it.

highlight all of it and press backspace
if you mean the search history, then on the arrow thing at the bottom there should be a thing that says clear history or whatever.

View toolbars... and uncheck the ones that you dont wants in there.
If you wanna clear the pages you've visited.... tools interent options, delete cookies and files and then under content cleas SLL state and disable autocomplete...
