who do you think should play captain kirk in the new star trek film.

William Shatner is the only Kirk as far as I'm concerned. If the want a different actor as Captain, then it should be a different Enterprise. They should avoid recasting altogether.

The actor they get must be in his early 20s, so that leaves out the Gary Oldmans and Cpt. Rikers...lol They even said Matt Damon was (thankfully!) too old. So it will have to be someone much younger. Young Spock is gonna be played by the guy who played Silar, last year on 'Heroes' and I think that he'll do great! So for Kirk they'll need someone who has a good chemistry with this actor so they'll have good chemistry like Shatner & Nimoy did. That's the only way it's going to work. I hear Shatner will have a cameo as the older Kirk flashing back.

I don't think Star Trek would be the same without "James T Kirk" but if it had to be someone then how about a feisty, strong female? I thought Cpt Janeway was really good so maybe it's time for a change?
