when your on-line friends suffer emotionally?

I'm sensitive, and easily vulnerable to others people's emotions when I care for them. So it will affect me just as much as a person I care for IRL.

I don't have any online friends. I did have, but the ones I had discovered that their opinions differed from mine on an issue or two, and got mad and chewed me out, sending me an email to tell me off. Oh well, I don't have that many friends irl anyway. It does affect me a bit, though, because I hate to hear of anyone suffering. And I know what it's like to suffer emotionally.

well i feel for them and depending how close i have become, i try to help them by talking etc..but we need to keep it in reality check on how much we can help. On line friends are not the same as in person friends. if an online friend becomes a in person friend..well, then it is different.

My online friends never "Emotionally suffer". I'm usually the one who's upset, and they don't really care...

I have a couple of friends I feel like I know even though we've never met. We exchange phone calls and send each other gifts. One lives in NY and one in New Zealand. I have a lot of sympathy when something is wrong with one of them.

I couldn't really say as to what affect but it does bother me and if I can help I will and I have in a couple cases.

It worries me. I care about a couple of my on-line friends. They are really my friends, on-line or not.

The suffering of another always bothers me. It also reminds me how fortunate I am.

I am compassionate and it does hurt me when I read about something bad happens to people on Y'A.
