How do i encrypt my computer or router?

i have a d link router and it says to configure settings for my router but i cant find anything that lets me configure it/.

Type in 192.168.1.1 and go to security and set up WEP or WPA or WPA-2

enter in your router address. you can manually configure it there. thats what i do. for example:

xxx.xxx.1.0
