I always buy dvd r and they dont work and can barely hold any video clips, what type do i but, thanks!

... listen to your own question. "What type of CDs to I need to buy to burn DVDs?" You buy DVDs. Unless you want to burn VCDs, but there you only get 700MB of video, unlike a DVD where you get over 4 gigs (4,000 MB). Use a DVD burning program like Nero to put your video clips on DVD.

You don't. To burn a dvd you need a writeable dvd.
