Ok....folks are gonna hate me, but...
1) It should NOT have happened. At least, not the way it did. If we went to war with anyone post-9-11 it should have been the Saudis, with Iraq just being a brief *side mission* to nail Saddam. Priorities, people!
2) Not enough people understand that this does exist, and *IS* a serious problem whether you think people did it or not. Anything that can melt glaciers all over the world, endanger polar bears and native Inuit alike by way of melting the polar icecap at the North Pole, and *at the same time* spawn hurricanes like Katrina and Dean....yeah, it's *serious* folks.
If we wait until this screws up weather patterns enough to trigger *dust bowls* and ruin agriculture, it will be too late to do anything about it, in terms of having spare food and water supplies *ready* for shortages.
3) A bubble designed to keep old-school rich people *happy* after the New Economy was ruined. It's so much busy work designed to help the Business Media, like the _Wall Street Journal_ and _Business Week_, focused on playing a new game with their money, versus noticing that for most non-CEO folks, the real-world, real-life economy of jobs and wages is a *tattered ruin*, and has been for a while. It keeps people from paying attention to how Big Oil, Big Banking and Big Drug Companies have conspired to *ruin* ordinary people and deny them *any* shot at wealth, or even maintaining a standard of living. At all.
4) Based on lies, hype, and more lies. Essentially it's all a clique at this point. The ending of the New Economy was basically the signal from Old Money that they were *not* welcoming any Newly Rich "peons" into their game. So yeah, it's a clique, it's all just like High School, only worse, because a) there are no real cheerleaders, just Old White Men, and b) because nobody ever *graduates* and lets new people in the game.
5) Sad, tragic loss of life, and totally needless.
All this does is *demonstrate* how completely in each other's pockets politicians and Big Business are. Both are hopelessly corrupt, inept, and criminally negligent.
And as demos go, it's a total waste. We already *had* this object lesson with Katrina....and with every soldier we bury from Iraq, trying to create *civilization* out of a damned sewer there.
We already had enough bodies to bury and lost lives to mourn. Why do we need any more?
Oh, yeah, because the people in charge are *that F*cking Stupid*, that's why. -_- Not good. Personally, I'd go there and start *slapping folks stupid* mind you...but I don't want to be the one *blamed* for raising their IQ! I don't need people in my face asking me "Why aren't they *imbeciles* anymore? We thought they were *cute* as *imbeciles*?"
But you know....
I hope this helps. Thanks for your time.
