ok - so i need a crafty, fun idea - we're doing a 1 year old birthday party picnic - and i need to find a way to keep the table cloths on the tables - outside. i don't do tacky - not into just setting rocks on the tables - and i do't have time ot paint rocks - any other ideas - was thinking about putting clothespins on the ends, but not sure if that will be heavy enough -

i can't find any weights to buy that match our theme -

thanks for your help

They make these thing that are clamps that wrap around the table and hold the cloth on to the table. You should be able to find them at the party store and you should be able to find bigger ones in a picnic section (which should still be there even in August).

Get those and then hop over to Micheal's or Hobby Lobby and buy foam pieces that match your theme and simply glue the foam to the plastic. Make sure you have the right glue or they will pop off.

Hi! We just went through the same thing for an outdoor birthday party. We did use rocks and clothespins but for a better look we wrapped the rocks in fabric that matched our theme, tied the top with ribbon (they'll look like little sachets)then attached it to the clothespin. Ended up looking like little upside down balloons but worked very well! Hope that helps!

If you don't get a good crafty idea, don't despair. You can simply tape down the corners so they don't show. Of course, this means the tablecloths are tucked around the tabletop, not flapping prettily in the breeze, but it does keep them secure. Fold the tablecloth snugly around the corner of the table, crawl underneath and tape in place. If you have cloth tablecloths, binder clips (those heavy triangular black ones) will hold the tablecloth securely to itself without damaging it at all.

You could just knot each corner under the table. That's what we do and it doesn't look tacky at all.
