i dont get it you cheered for gary sheffield the last 3 yrs and now hes with detroit and you boo him how pathetic you call your self yankee fans would you do that if babe ruth was still alive today or mantel or maris

Ok Tiger fan act like you dont do it to former players of the Tigers when they play. You booed Kyle Farnsworth and he never said anything bad about Detroit and even pitched good while he was there, remember you traded him so why is it ok for you to boo players but when a former Yankee who talks bad about the teams manager gets booed by Yankees fans it isn't ok?

I don't care about Yankees fans what they want their team to win game or going to playoff. They will have another rematch this weekend in Detroit.
All three players are passed away as no longer to live or watch Yankees games again.

The reason why we are booing him is because of the way he is ruthlessly attacking Joe Torre and the organization. It's obvious he still wishes he was a Yankee. And if Ruth, Maris and Mantle was alive today, I doubt they would still be playing.
He's just a disgruntled former employee. He'll turn on Mr. Leyland when he isn't getting his way. It's his nature and his history. I'm sure everything he's said was printed in Detroit newspapers, as well!!! Don't be so naive!!

Why should we give him respect,when he lied and ripped one of the best mangers in BB, and insulted one of the best SS in BB? Sheff has a big MOUTH! and he deserved everything the fans dished out to him this weekend! Even Darrel Strawberry said Gary was way out of line calling Torre a racist! And for the record!! if things aren't going his way with your team,,he'll do the same thing!!

Sheffield talks too much sh*t. He doesn't even know what he is talking about. It is a shame because I used to think he was a great player. Ruth, Mantle, etc. never talked sh*t about the Yankees, so they would still be cheered to this day.

They're booing him for the comments he made on Joe how the hell is he racist when he likes Derek Jeter.Maybe he didn't give Gary special privileges because he's not as talented as players such as A-Rod, Derek Jeter who he does give special treatment to.

We didn't boo him because he left, maybe so, but it was mainly because of the comments he made about Joe Torre, which really set the fans off to boo mode.
