Overheating causes random shutdowns. Excessive overheating leads to component failures. Dirty fans and coolers cause overheating. Placing your PC in tight corners or inside cabinets restrict ventilation and may cause overheating. Insure proper ventilation to keep your PC cool.

it can cause them to shut down,,, always make sure the air vents are free from dust and stuff and clean them often
