the question was"were the maccanns wrong to leave the children alone"
all the answers were ,,yes,, to the question.

i agree,, and so does everybody else,"now the maccanns still say they done nothing" whats that all about?.
even the people who have supported them, and defended them, in here, say they, were wrong.
so why are the maccanns the only people who say they done nothing wrong?
if they said it was wrong, what would they have to lose? they would just be saying what the world already knows.

if they say they were wrong, that would be the start, of admission of negligence, and we know what follows that.
its amazing how with their child still missing, that the self preservation, is put first,

AND HERES THE PROOF.

I agree with you fully. And I still think they were 100% wrong to leave their children alone that night. Look are the result they got because of their actions.

The difference is..all think it is wrong but...some think they should be held accountable for breaking the law and some think that even though they were wrong and broke the law they are suffering enough. Wonder what would happen if some mother gets in the car breaks the law and is going excessively over the speed limit or maybe her blood alcohol is above the limit but she is not hammered. Lets suppose an accident occurs has that mother suffered enough? Would it be a good example to let a mother like that off the hook because she suffered enough had she lost her daughter in that accident? NO OF COURSE NOT!!!!! How about if a mother goes off down the street a 100 ft or so to the local pub and her child sets the house on fire playing with matches and dies? Does that mother suffer enough? Well of course she does but if she doesn't have the right connections she will be going to jail right?

i agree with "Anne s" Madeline deserves a very big apology from her parents for neglecting her........ but the day they say sorry to there child may she be dead or alive . is the day they admit they done wrong.........and like someone said before when they admit to being wrong they should be charged for child neglect on 3 counts not just for the fact Madeline has gone for the fact there are 2 other children who don't seem to be getting acknowledged at all..........
there apology should be made on national TV to there child they wanted everything El's about the case public so they should stand up and pay there daughter some respect .... there daughter may have lost her life because of her parents act she at least deserves to be told it was not her fault but there's she was only 3 years old and would not have understood what was happening to her i explain to my daughter when mummy was wrong so should they

They know full well that leaving children alone is totally not right. However, can you imagine Gerry, the control freak, actually admitting he was wrong. I didn't actually realise his wife could speak until a couple of weeks ago - it seemed he didn't even allow the mother of his child to discuss her feeling in public. Admitting they abandoned her that night would mean them admitting they did something very wrong and irresponsible. They are scared they are going to get prosecuted. That is why they lied to the policy initially saying they checked on their daughter when they did not.

I agree with you. Though I would add that there can be no defence to drink driving, because you cannot claim through ignorance you weren't aware of the risk and drink driving in itself is a crime. Your other analogy is more appropriate and I agree with it. Regardless of what happened to her they took a risk. Drink drivers are not only prosecuted when it results in an accident.

What I disagree with is the suggestion by some that somehow they need to be prosecuted as a warning to others. They should be prosecuted on behalf of the child.

it quite is a huge concept. Or yet another concept could be to enable Fox ask the questions on the Democrat debates, and CNN ask the questions on the Republican debates. Or better yet, enable the Republican applicants ask the questions on the Democrat debates, and vice versa! not greater softball questions! Vote for Rudy!

Keep up, Jack.

It is only wishful thinking on the part of some of the "anti" group that the so-called "pro" group thinks that leaving the children alone was the right thing to do. None of the serious non-anti contributors has ever suggested this and I strongly believe that the McCanns would say the same.

But you are confusing two different things. The McCanns can acknowledge that what they did was a mistake - that this was so is kind of obvious since Madeleine disappeared - but can still defend the decision they took.

In any situation, you make a decision based on the information you have. If there are bad consequences to your decision, it does not necessarily mean that the decision you made was not reasonable.

I don't know what you mean by proof. It's just a bunch of photos.

Its called living in denial. If you deny that you did something wrong both to yourself and to those around you often enough, and those around you either agree with you, or don't challenge you, then you start to believe your own denial of what you have done to the extent that you create a new reality of what actually happened. I think after 105 days of living a lie by denial both to themselves and those around them the McCanns have created a false reality which they are now living. Once they come back to the UK and their protective shield goes, and people tell them face to face 'well actually you are both child neglectors' then they may just realise what they are and what they have done - alternatively they are cold, calculating manipulators of the first order !

Gerry & Kate McCann have publicly spoken of their "feelings of guilt" to the media. How can "feelings of guilt" translate to "they've done nothing wrong"?????

Yup, they haven't torn at hair & wailed & wept over "their feelings of guilt" on tv...I believe they do it every night within the privacy of 4 walls...

We've discused this before.
