At least completely legalized for medicinal- but across the board for people over 18 would be good. I don't even care if they tax it heavily and the money goes towards health care or education. It could solve a lot of problems! It is definitely better for people than alcohol!

Yes! Reading in the newspaper, I see that too many are arrested for possessing an ounce or 1/2 ounces! This to me is a waste of taxpayers money! The court costs alone are ridiculous enough as it is!
They should concentrate on the really serious crimes, like rape, and theft, and ect!

yes
it is, in every way, safer than alcohol
weed is far less addictive than alcohol and tobacco both
nobody smokes 40 joints a day, and so its safer on your lungs than cigarettes
weed is less intoxicating and impairs people less than alcohol; taking a few shots of liquor does more than taking a few hits from a pipe.
weed is *not* toxic and does *not* harm your brain. in order to overdose on marijuana, you would have to smoke 10 pounds of weed in 10 minutes. In all of recorded history, not a single person has died from smoking weed, and only 75 die each year while under the influence of it. In the year 2001 alone, 17,448 people died in alcohol related car-crashes. The ratio for this is 1 death from marijuana to every 233 deaths from drunk driving.
Furthermore, the war on drugs has done unknowable damage to american society. Every drug lord owes his financial well-being to the united states government. If legitimate companies could farm and sell marijuana the crime rate would plummet, and not just crime from drug deals either. Nobody would be killed when a drug deal goes bad, and the positive benefits, particularly on inner-city slums, would be amazing.
also, i think it is interesting to note that this nation's first marijuana laws were originally passed in the interest of repelling mexican immigrants from entering the country, and that they are kept active today by the propaganda put out by the american government and other organizations.

wonder when getting tattoos will be criminalised
what freaks me is that you can circumcise or pierce a totally helpless child (without its permission) and yet that is ok--we been doing it for years, therefore it is ok

Hell no . It is not good even for medicinal use. I think most are blinded by the idea. It is a gateway drug to our youth and ends up being an excuse for people in pain. It is one of the most hallucinating drugs . Just my opinion I am not being judgmental to anyone who makes the choice to use it.
